Application examples

The continuous testability of the products used is an important component for all parties involved. For our REWITEC®-products, we continuously receive test results that analyse and confirm the effectiveness of the application in the wind industry. The following application examples provide a brief insight.

Analysis of a GE 1.5 SL wind turbine

When analysing the main gearbox of a GE 1.5 SL wind turbine, significant differences were found before and after treatment of the surface with REWITEC®-products could be determined. The imprints and traces were analysed under a microscope with 200x resolution. The following results were clearly demonstrated.

The before/after comparison shows that the pitting damage on the tooth flank after treatment with REWITEC® have completely disappeared.

The use of REWITEC® makes it clear that the grey staining of the surfaces has been significantly eliminated.

This means less friction and temperature in tribological systems:

REWITEC® in the FE8 test

The FE8 test is used to examine lubricating oils and greases with regard to their wear and friction behaviour under lubricant and bearing-specific influences. To assess the suitability of the lubricant to be tested, the friction and temperature behaviour as well as the wear in conjunction with the resulting weight loss of the bearings mounted in the test arrangement are determined. The tests also make it possible to create surface contact charts as well as lubricant and reaction layer analyses.

REWITEC® on the 2-disc test bench

The Competence Centre for Tribology at the University of Mannheim used the 2-disc test bench to investigate the friction and wear behaviour of materials and coatings as well as the lubricant properties under rolling and rolling load. Thanks to the modern test procedure, the data (e.g. frictional torque) can be continuously recorded digitally. It is also possible to determine mass wear by weighing.
